Peking Duck
Peking ducks are one of the most prized poultry breeds in the world — celebrated for their rich, flavorful meat and a fat layer that produces exceptional skin when roasted. We raise them here on the farm and process them by hand. Whole Peking duck is available frozen in the farm shop, making Bagshot Row one of the very few places in the region where you can source this rare bird direct from the farm that raised it.

Muscovy Duck
Muscovy ducks are calm, friendly, and remarkably self-sufficient. Unlike most domestic ducks, they are true dual-purpose birds — valued for both their eggs and their lean, flavorful meat. They are excellent foragers, natural pest controllers, and among the most docile ducks you can keep. Their temperament makes them a pleasure to work with daily, and their contribution to the farm's nutrient cycle is significant.

Duck manure: nature's balanced fertilizer
Duck manure is one of the most valuable inputs on the farm — and one of the most underappreciated. Unlike chicken manure, which is considered 'hot' and can burn plants if applied fresh, duck manure is a 'cold' fertilizer that can be applied directly to beds without composting first. It carries a naturally balanced N-P-K ratio, meaning it delivers nitrogen for leafy growth, phosphorus for root development, and potassium for fruit and flower production all at once. Combined with the nutrient-rich pond water that moves through our irrigation system, duck manure is a cornerstone of the farm's fertility program — no synthetic inputs needed.

We also make duck bone broth from the carcasses, slow-simmered and available in the shop's refrigerated section. Nothing goes to waste.
