Meet the farmers

The Humans Behind the Heat

Bagshot Row is a family effort — every pepper row, sauce batch, flock rotation, and market day is a team effort. We work together to get everything done, combining decades of horticulture expertise, culinary training, business leadership, and event coordination under one roof.

Our Team

Hands in the soil. Fire in the bottle.

Travis Tift, Master Horticulturalist, walking through raised garden beds at Bagshot Row Pepper Farm

Owner

Master Horticulturalist

Travis brings 20+ years of hands-on horticulture experience and extensive knowledge of hydroponics and closed-loop farming systems to every corner of the farm. He designs and manages the growing infrastructure — from the greenhouse and fertigation lines to the shade cloth systems and pond irrigation network. His high-level culinary training shapes every sauce, ferment, and preserved product that leaves the farm, translating the complexity of each pepper variety into layered, intentional flavor. Travis handles all poultry processing by hand from start to finish. He is the grower, the maker, and the keeper — all in one.

CFO & Event Coordinator

Deborah keeps the business side of Bagshot Row running with precision and heart. As CFO she manages the farm's finances, planning, and operations — making sure every season is sustainable and every decision is grounded. As Event Coordinator she designs and runs the farm's workshops, festivals, and community events, bringing people onto the land and into the process. She is equally at home behind a spreadsheet and behind the wheel of a tractor.

Farm Hand

Farm Hand & Bird Handler

Aydria is the backbone of daily farm life at Bagshot Row. She is essential in maintaining the property and keeping over 100 birds of many species in check — fed, watered, and loved every single day. She assists with bird processing, seed starting and planting, and farm row planting, and runs a full-time grooming studio on site. With Aydria on the ground, the flock thrives and the farm keeps moving.

Farm philosophy

Grow a system, not just a crop

We chose permaculture because a resilient farm should become more alive, more productive, and more generous over time. Every pepper row, pollinator patch, water line, and flock rotation is designed to support the next one.

A day on the farm

The daily heat cycle

Before a pepper reaches a bottle, it moves through a day of close observation and practical care.

  1. 01

    Morning chores

Feed and check the flock, refresh water, and read the weather before the day heats up.

  2. 02

    Greenhouse work

Prune, train, pot up, and inspect young plants for the details that become a strong harvest.

  3. 03

    Irrigation checks

Walk the lines, test moisture, and adjust water delivery so every bed gets what it needs.

  4. 04

    Harvest

Pick peppers at their peak color and flavor, sorting carefully for fresh use and preservation.

  5. 05

    Processing

Wash, ferment, roast, and bottle the harvest in small batches with zero-waste thinking.
